There are unique strategies to use when there has been a gap in your work experience. From the basics of how to address the gap on a resume to building confidence answering tough interview questions. I have built a specialty of helping people return to the workforce. Many of my clients are woman who have stayed home to raise their children. I myself was a stay at home mother and had to relaunch my own career. This combination of personal understanding, academic training, and abundance of experience working with returning to the workforce clients has made me a sought after resource. Many clients begin with my Returning To The Workforce seminar. Often they arrange a follow up personal session to discuss the unique details of their situation. Sometimes clients are early in the process and are just exploring; they want a safe place to discuss the wide range of thoughts and emotions (see Motherhood Stress & Guilt workshop). Others know they want to return and together we craft a strategy.
“With Colleen I felt like I got two for one. In addition to being a career coach, she is a therapist. Job searching caused a lot of intense emotion and I didn’t have to hire two people or go to two different places! Colleen had the training and experience to be both career coach and therapist.”
